Fort Lauderdale commuters should be aware of upcoming lane closures on the 17th Street Causeway Bridge. The City of Fort Lauderdale announced that from March 16 through March 20, there will be single-lane closures from 10 PM to 5 AM due to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) testing.
The closures will be as follows: the eastbound left lane and turn lane will be closed from March 16 to 18. The westbound left lane will be closed from March 18 to 20. Drivers should expect delays and plan for extra time during these hours.
For those traveling by water, the bridge will remain fully operational for maritime traffic. However, road traffic is expected to experience congestion around the bridge.
