Addressing this surge in accidents, a special "A" Shift team took to the streets to mitigate some of the dangerous driving habits that have been exacerbating the situation, as detailed by the Sheriff's Office.
During a two-hour operation, deputies focused on reining in typical traffic transgressions: speeding, red light violations, and unlawful turns that have not only increased the risk for those behind the wheel but placed construction workers in danger as well. "We’ve maintained a presence in the area, but today’s focused effort addressed dangerous driving behaviors like speeding, running red lights, and illegal turns" the Sheriff's Office stated in a social media post obtained by Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Indiana. In the short span of their operation, the team conducted 18 traffic stops, a testament to the blitz's strict enforcement.
