In a significant narcotics operation last Thursday, members of the Morgan County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit and the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force seized over six pounds of methamphetamine and a portion of cocaine, as reported in a detailed social media post by the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
The operation unfolded in the southwest side of Decatur near Flint, where agents encountered Jaquine Tuakei Love of Huntsville, and continuing investigation led them to another Huntsville residence, finding more methamphetamine and Love was subsequently arrested; charged with drug trafficking, he currently resides in the Madison County Jail with a steep $1,500,000.00 bond.
Further investigative efforts detailed by Sheriff Ron Puckett highlighted the extent of Love's dealings, revealing his attempted relocation of methamphetamine via an associate in Decatur, which was foiled by agents and added to the significant seizure; the total amount recovered included over 6 pounds of meth and two ounces of cocaine, as shared in the Sheriff's office statement.
"The illegal use and abuse of Narcotics continue to harm families, neighborhoods, and communities, but they are not limited by city or county lines. Because of that, we are thankful for the ongoing collaboration and mutual aid between agencies across north Alabama," Sheriff Puckett stressed the importance of inter-agency cooperation in tackling the widespread and indiscriminate reach of illegal narcotics; upon release from Madison County Jail, Love will face additional charges in Morgan County, including two counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine and one count of Trafficking in Cocaine, each carrying a separate bond of $750,000.00, according to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
