More than 6,000 family farms have thus far been recognized, each rooted deeply in the history and future of Indiana's agriculture. The significance of these awards lies in their selection criteria: To be eligible, a Hoosier Homestead farm must have been in the care of the same family for at least 100 consecutive years, and either consist of more than 20 acres of land or churn out agricultural products worth in excess of $1,000 annually.
