The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued its latest forecast for the region, predicting a mix of sunny days and potential thunderstorms ahead. According to the update, today will primarily be sunny with a high around 55 degrees and brisk winds peaking at gusts up to 36 mph. Tonight, residents can expect an increase in clouds with a slight chance for rain after 4 am.
As the week progresses, the likelihood of rain appears to crescendo into potential thunderstorms by the weekend. Tuesday could see a 60 percent chance of precipitation with less than a tenth of an inch possible, whereas Saturday ramps up to a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, leading into a likely stormy Sunday as reported by NWS Indianapolis.
The NWS also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook early Monday for central Indiana. A concern for today include peak wind gusts that may possibly reach up to 40 mph. However, for the time being, spotter activation is not anticipated.
Looking towards the end of the week, Friday shows an encouraging warm up with a high near 73 degrees but accompanies this rise in temperature with chances of showers and thunderstorms. Overnight lows throughout the week are expected to stay above the freezing point, generally hovering in the mid to upper 30s, to gradually increase along with the highs, seems to hint at an incoming more unstable weather pattern
