
Early today, tragedy struck in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, where a man was fatally shot during a dispute on the sidewalk. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on the 500 block of North Franklin Street, with an altercation between two males escalating when one individual drew a firearm and discharged it.
The victim, purported to be approximately 25 years old, was hit multiple times in the chest, and despite being rushed to Northwestern Hospital, he was later declared deceased. No immediate arrests have been made, as the other male involved in the altercation fled the scene. Area Three detectives have taken up the investigation into this fatal event, the police informed.
Further details about the incident were sparse, as the authorities had not yet released additional information regarding the shooter or the origin of the squabble that led to the gunfire.
