Authorities responded to a crash in Sunrise today when a car went into a canal near the 2900 block of Northwest 60th Terrace. At least one person was detained, but their identity and the charges are not yet known, according to Local10.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. WSVN stated that all passengers were safely out of the vehicle by the time first responders arrived. The police department said the driver lost control, leading to the car's plunge into the canal.
A tow truck was seen retrieving the submerged SUV. The incident is still under investigation as authorities work to determine how the car ended up in the canal.
