A potential tragedy was averted in Brownsburg when firefighters responded to a blaze at a Wawa under construction. The call came in at around 11:35 AM for a fire with potential entrapment at the intersection of 267 and 700 North. The first unit on scene reported smoke, confirming the seriousness of the situation.
According to the Brownsburg Fire Territory's Facebook post, upon arrival, crews found smoke and fire coming from the building's rooftop and immediately began firefighting and rescue efforts. Ladder 131 personnel searched the first floor and discovered an individual on the roof. Ground ladders were deployed, and the person was safely rescued by Battalion 130. Engine 131 brought the fire under control in 8-10 minutes with assistance from Engines 132 and 133.
No injuries were reported, and the fire's cause is under investigation by the Brownsburg Fire Territory Fire Marshal's Office.
