A former co-owner of the popular Houston eatery, Turkey Leg Hut, has been indicted on charges related to the 2020 fire and explosion at Bar 5015. Lyndell "Lynn" Price, 42, faces federal charges of conspiracy to commit arson of a commercial building and conspiracy to use an interstate facility to commit arson of a vehicle. These charges were detailed in a release from the FBI, which KHOU 11 News reported.
Price is accused to have allegedly recruited others, including Armani Williams, 27, and John Lee Price, 39, to intentionally set the fire at the establishment, which is owned by another former Turkey Leg Hut co-owner and Price's former business partner. According to the FOX 26 Houston report, the trio are now in federal custody and were scheduled to make an appearance before a U.S. magistrate.
The FBI states the incident took place in June 2020, when gasoline was poured on the entrance ramp of Bar 5015 and then ignited, causing an explosion that alarmed residents in the vicinity. No injuries were reported in the blast.
If convicted of the charges, Price and his co-defendants could each face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. In addition, Price and John Lee Price are additionally charged with setting a stolen 1975 Chevy Nova on fire. This would potentially add another five years to their sentences. The court appearance was expected to take place at 2 p.m. today, and more information will likely become available following this proceeding.
