Starting at 9:00 a.m., HCSO partnered with Riverview Health for the National Drug Takeback Program where Captain Mark Bowen led the effort in collecting over 142 pounds of prescription drugs within three hours. According to their Facebook post, this initiative is crucial for the safe disposal of unused or expired medications, preventing potential misuse.
With the commencement of the Coxhall Guild Kite Festival and Workshop at 9:30 a.m., Sergeant Bryan Melton attended the event at Coxhall Gardens Park. Despite the chilly weather, strong winds favored the kite-flying festivities, and according to HCSO, “We had the chance to meet so many wonderful families and some absolutely fantastic kids.” The sky was reportedly adorned with an array of kites, making for an enchanting visual experience.
In another area of the county, Sergeant Adam Leckrone represented the HCSO at a Super Safety Event hosted by Hamilton Town Center Old Navy from noon to 5:00 p.m. The afternoon affair was an opportunity for families to engage with local law enforcement, obtain key safety information, and enjoy giveaways.
