
Tragedy struck early this morning on Balboa Avenue as a 36-year-old man riding an electric bicycle succumbed to injuries from a hit-and-run incident; now, the San Diego Police Department is urgently requesting public assistance to track down the driver responsible. The accident occurred in the vicinity of Clairemont Mesa East, around 1:26 a.m., whereupon the victim, while traversing westward in a cycling lane, met his untimely demise, according to Hoodline.
The San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the Traffic Division of the SDPD have initiated an intensifying search for the gray Mercedes E-Class, which might be a 2-door or 4-door model, implicated in the fatal collision, the vehicle expected to be missing parts of its right-side mirror, front bumper, and lower grill, after the impact which left the bicyclist gravely wounded and succumbing later at a local hospital, as reported by San Diego County Crime Stoppers.
San Diego County Crime Stoppers offers up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
