
Utah County has named Shad Burraston as April 2025's Employee of the Month, an accolade earned through dedication and a recent display of exceptional problem-solving during his early days as Division Manager of Buildings in Public Works. Transitioning to this new role, Burraston's contributions include enhancing the security of access controls throughout County facilities and adeptly navigating critical electrical issues at the Administration Building.
Associate Public Works Director Glen Tanner, who put forth Burraston's nomination, emphasized the impact of his eight years of service. "During his time at the county, he has played an essential role in keeping the County buildings safe and ensuring that employees have appropriate access to their designated areas," Tanner said, as per Utah County News. Tanner's nomination highlighted Burraston’s efforts to bring the County's technology to the leading edge, implementing touchless entry and a robust unified security system.
One of Burraston's first challenges in his new position was the swift resolution of electrical issues that brought operations at the Administration Building to a halt. The situation, demanding collaboration with city officials, contractors, and building staff, showcased his ability to facilitate quick recoveries essential for uninterrupted public service. "He put in many hours of effort, meeting with the city, contractors, and the building's staff to ensure that the building could be restored to operations as quickly as possible," according to Utah County News.
Burraston's recent promotion and accolades speak to his skills in leadership, his dedication to public safety, and a work ethic that sets a standard for his colleagues. Glen Tanner's commendation reflects confidence in Burraston's ability to provide secure, comfortable environments for County employees. "Anybody who knows Shad knows that he is an outstanding individual who is dependable and always portrays a great work ethic," said Tanner, as per Utah County News, underscoring the esteem in which his colleague is held.
