According to a Facebook post from IMPD News, Donnie Abney III, a 22-year-old suspect, was apprehended yesterday, in connection with the April 17th homicide investigation. IMPD's efforts to solve the case have been ongoing since the discovery of an adult male victim with gunshot wounds at the intersection of W. Morris St. and Hiatt St. earlier in the month.
The initial response by officers from the IMPD Southwest District happened around 1:30 p.m. on April 17, when reports of a shooting came in. First responders located the injured man and transported him to a local hospital, where, despite the efforts of medical professionals, he was pronounced deceased.
