The Bloomington Arts Commission, in partnership with the City of Bloomington, has opened applications for the 2025 Artistic Advancement Grant cycle. Previously known as the Emerging Artist Grant, the program offers up to $2,000 to support local artists with their creative projects, as per the City of Bloomington release.
Artists living and working in Bloomington who practice a generally recognized art form are eligible to apply. The grant funds can be used for work conducted between July 1, and December 31, 2026. Artists are limited to receiving the Artistic Advancement Grant a maximum of two times, including any past awards under its former name.
Applications are due by June 27. Full details and application forms are available on the Bloomington Arts Commission's website. A workshop to assist with writing artist statements will be held on Wednesday next week at 6 p.m. at the Waldron Art Center, with registration information also available online.
For additional support, Holly Warren, the Assistant Director for the Arts and Staff Liaison to the Commission, is offering one-on-one office hours throughout the application period. Appointments can be scheduled by contacting her via email at [email protected] or by phone at 812-349-3418.
