The City of Carmel has announced the start of construction on a new development project in the Arts & Design District: Ardalan Plaza. Community leaders gathered on Wednesday to mark the groundbreaking of the $19 million development, which aims to contribute to the city's cultural and commercial growth. Construction is now underway and is expected to be completed by 2026, as per the City of Carmel website.
Located at 311–331 W. Main St., between 3rd and 4th Avenues SW, Ardalan Plaza will include 8,000 square feet of retail and gallery space, luxury condominiums, and a private residence featuring a rooftop terrace. The design incorporates Italian architectural elements, including columns and detailed decorative features.
Mayor Sue Finkam highlighted the project as a step in Carmel’s ongoing development. Brian Simons, Senior Vice President at Skender Construction, and Dr. Soori Ardalan, owner of Soori Gallery, also expressed support for the project’s role in enhancing Main Street and the local arts scene.
The project is a joint effort involving the Carmel Redevelopment Commission, Skender Construction, Studio M Architecture and Planning, and KBSO Consulting Engineers. Ardalan Plaza is part of the city’s broader strategy to support economic and cultural development through strategic construction and planning.
