
A man driving along Interstate 465 on Indianapolis' east side was shot yesterday early morning in an incident that is currently under investigation by the Indiana State Police. According to WTHR, the shooting occurred shortly after 6 a.m., just north of the I-70 interchange on the southbound side of I-465. The victim, found in a pickup truck, was transported to the hospital and reported to be in stable condition.
While the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) cameras captured the heavy presence of law enforcement on the scene, details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been made public, as FOX59 noted. The Indiana State Police have yet to provide specifics about what transpired. INDOT classified the incident as a "traffic hazard" and acknowledged that the southbound exit ramp was slow.
As reported by WISH-TV, no one else was inside the vehicle at the time of shooting. Investigations are ongoing, and so far, no description of the suspect or the vehicle involved has been released. Police are calling on potential witnesses to come forward with any information that might lead to understanding the incident's context and identifying the person responsible.
