Students in Evansville are getting an up-close look at the legislative process, thanks to State Rep. Tim O'Brien's invitation to participate in the House page program. According to a recent report, O'Brien (R-Evansville) played host to local students Olivia Branch from Evansville Day School and Chris Sermersheim from Reitz Memorial High School, both of whom served as pages this legislative session.
The page program is designed to quickly immerse young Hoosiers into the workings of state government by giving them a chance to directly interact with lawmakers. In a statement obtained by Indiana House Republicans, O'Brien said, "The House page program is a great opportunity to experience state government firsthand and learn about the legislative process."
