An individual lost their life in a vehicular accident on Interstate 65 in Tippecanoe County, with Indiana State Police and Clinton County Sheriff's Office responding to the scene early yesterday morning. As per WTHR, the crash involved a 2003 GMC Yukon and a 2020 Isuzu truck, and occurred approximately five miles north of State Road 28 near the 163-mile marker.
The preliminary investigation, according to FOX59, suggested that the Yukon, after reportedly being driven recklessly, sideswiped the Isuzu truck while both were heading northbound on the interstate, Indiana State Police, who had earlier been alerted to the Yukon's erratic driving, located the scene after the fact where it appeared the Yukon had rolled over, ejecting its driver, and the Isuzu truck, which did not capsize, ended up halted in a nearby ditch, the Yukon, made in 2003, had been overturned following the collision which led to the demise of its driver.
The Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office has pronounced the driver of the Yukon dead at the site of the accident, and as of yet, the name of the deceased has been withheld pending family notification, as WISH-TV elaborates. Meanwhile, the driver of the Isuzu emerged without injuries from the incident. The investigation into the precise circumstances of the collision is ongoing.
