As the Lemon Grove community continues to reel from the violence that claimed the life of 23-year-old Darron Willie Singleton Jr., a fourth suspect has now been arrested and charged in connection with his death. The San Diego County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Pierre Martel Terry, 33, was already in custody at Centinela California State Prison for unrelated charges when he was transported to the San Diego Central Jail on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the case of Singleton Jr.
The investigation into Singleton's homicide has been ongoing since the tragic shooting last year where he was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; despite the arrival of deputies and the San Miguel Fire Department, Singleton was declared dead at the scene, and his death was later confirmed as a homicide by an autopsy according to a previous report by Hoodline News.
Before Terry's arrest, the sheriff's department had already apprehended three suspects, with the most recent prior arrest being 45-year-old Valena Marie Gonzales of San Diego. Gonzales, who was taken into custody near Valley Road and Rio Drive, faces charges of Aiding and Abetting in Singleton Jr.'s murder and was booked into Las Colinas Detention Facility.
