On Tuesday last week, the Indianapolis Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF) arrested 36-year-old Antwon Stott following a pursuit related to a narcotics investigation. According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department News Facebook page, the incident began near the 6400 block of Hoover Road when Stott, driving a white Chevy Malibu, allegedly mistook an undercover detective for a rival and followed the unmarked vehicle for about two miles. When officers attempted a traffic stop, Stott reportedly refused to stop, leading to a vehicle chase and a subsequent foot pursuit. Officers from the IMPD North District, along with assistance from a K-9 unit, apprehended Stott without further incident.
Stott now faces multiple charges, including resisting law enforcement, a Level 5 felony; criminal recklessness and dealing marijuana, both Level 6 felonies; and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. The final decision on charges will be made by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. It is important to note that all charges are currently allegations, and Stott is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The case, listed under number IP250043633, remains under review as legal proceedings continue.
The ICGTF, a collaboration among multiple central Indiana law enforcement agencies, focuses on reducing violent crime and illegal firearm activity. It operates across several counties and works with state, local, and federal partners to support investigations and arrests.
