An accident late last night on the 2800 block of N Clinton Street involving a pickup truck and a motorized scooter resulted in a man being hospitalized in life-threatening condition. Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to a distress call at approximately 10:02 p.m. yesterday, as detailed in a report by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
The initial findings suggest that the man, donned in all black, was riding his motorized scooter northward when he was hit by the pickup truck that was also heading north on the inside lane. Upon the accident, the truck came to an immediate halt and emergency services were alerted, according to the same FWPD statement. Upon their arrival, medics rushed the injured scooter operator to a local hospital.
Current information from the investigation indicates that neither excessive speed, nor alcohol, appear to have been contributing factors in the distressing event.
