According to an announcement on the City of Raleigh's website, a total of 2,673.81 hours were spent working on parks and greenways, with many participating in activities such as Bioblitz—an event focused on identifying various species—tree planting, and litter collection efforts.
In total, the city saw 13,000 plants and 22 trees take root, while volunteers collected 250 lbs of trash, ensuring a cleaner, more vibrant environment for all residents and visitors alike. Furthermore, their efforts didn't stop there, events were numerous and they ranged widely, connecting the dots between nature conservation and neighborhood cohesion as community members came together, blurring the lines of environmental activism and local fellowship.
