On Tuesday last week, Bobby Hill, a man previously identified by law enforcement as a serious violent felon prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested following a chase in Indianapolis. According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department News Facebook page, detectives saw Hill allegedly firing a gun at a moving vehicle near East 38th Street and North Leland Avenue. Hill was already under investigation in connection to a separate shooting that occurred earlier this month, where a male victim was shot and hospitalized in stable condition. Investigators identified Hill as a suspect after reviewing video evidence and interviewing witnesses.
As officers approached, Hill fled on foot and fired at a vehicle while running. No injuries were reported during this incident. IMPD officers, with assistance from K-9 and SWAT units, located Hill hiding under a deck. He was arrested, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Hill faces multiple charges, including criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and resisting law enforcement. On Friday last week, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office added charges related to the shooting earlier this month, including battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Hill has not yet been tried and is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
