Three individuals were injured on Thursday morning when they were hit by a vehicle near the entrance to Jazz Fest in New Orleans. WWL-TV reports that the incident occurred around 10:24 a.m. at the intersection of Gentilly Boulevard and Lapeyrouse Street, as the festival was gearing up for its second weekend and attendees were starting to arrive.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, just before the gates opened and in the vicinity of crowds that were gathering, the driver of a truck struck the pedestrians. WDSU stated the incident took place approximately at 10:30 a.m. Local emergency services were called to the scene, and the victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The conditions of the three individuals have not been publicly disclosed as of now. Local law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. WBRZ confirmed that the pedestrians were taken to hospital, highlighting the rapid response of medical crews to the accident site.
