The National Weather Service in Nashville has forecasted a string of sunny and clear days ahead for the city, with temperatures comfortably reaching into the mid-80s. According to the NWS' latest advisory, residents can expect a high near 85 degrees Fahrenheit today with a refreshing west northwest wind making brief gusts up to 20 mph.
As evening approaches, the sky should remain mostly clear with temperatures dipping to around 64 degrees; the west northwest wind is set to mellow into a light breeze, a minor change signaling that Nashville's weather somewhat steadfast in this late spring harmony, and yet Sunday brings a slight twist with a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms primarily scheduled for the afternoon hours. Though initially sunny, clouds will gather and may unleash anywhere from a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain, with the potential for greater amounts during thunderstorms, as per the National Weather Service.
The unpredictability inherent in weather, like much of life's ebb and flow, brings a sharp change on Sunday night with the resumption of clear skies and a low hovering around 59 degrees. The conditions on Monday remain similarly bright and sunny, promising highs around 85 degrees, while Monday night is projected to be mostly clear with the mercury hitting the low 60s.
Looking ahead, the week's warmth is set to intensify with Tuesday's temperatures flirting with 90 degrees under sunny skies, and by Wednesday, the high could reach 91 degrees—Nashville residents may feel the South wind push and pull through the city, offering up gusts as strong as 20 mph, but despite the relative clarity of the night, there echoes a 20 percent chance of showers after the witching hour, rolling eventually into a 50 percent chance of rain come Thursday, with the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms significantly climbing to 60 percent by nightfall.
The weather crescendo peaks on Friday; the heavens expected to open up as rain showers and thunderstorms become not just likely, but certain, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation and a high nearing 86.
