At a local honors celebration, Asha Adhikari, a senior at Westfield High School, was spotlighted for her exceptional community service and was presented with the 32nd Annual Hamilton County Youth Service Award and a $1,000 scholarship, to recognize her initiative in combating homelessness and addiction education among youth, according to Hamilton County government.

Asha's launch of Project Hope at her high school has been instrumental in increasing awareness and providing aid for those without shelter, while she also uses her role in Speech and Debate to underscore the struggle against addiction; it is these actions that have garnered attention and accolades, including the substantial scholarship for her post-secondary aspirations.

In addition to Adhikari's achievements, six of her peers were also recognized as nominees for their dedication and impact within their communities, each receiving a $300 scholarship for their efforts; these students hailed from various high schools across the county including Carmel, Fishers, Hamilton Heights, Hamilton Southeastern, Noblesville, and Sheridan.

The executive director of the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs, Monica Greer, praised the nominees, expressing admiration for their commitment, "We are continually inspired by the passion and dedication of these students," whose work in their communities is noteworthy and their commitment to service and living drug-free is impressive, it's an honor to acknowledge such exceptional young leaders, she stated in a Hamilton County government's release.
