Residents of the quiet streets of Fishers encountered a ripple of unease as Fishers Police Officers were called to the scene of a residential burglary in the 16000 block of Brookmere Ave on Thursday. In a statement posted on their official Facebook page, the Fishers Police Department detailed the incident, where two men forcibly entered a home, attacked the resident, and fled with stolen property. The victim, who managed to call 911, required medical evaluation but was subsequently released from the hospital.
The case moved swiftly, with the Fishers Police Detectives identifying and arresting 24-year-old Elijah J Oates of Indianapolis later that day. In an interview with detectives, Oates admitted to the crime, and his charges include Robbery, Burglary, Criminal Confinement, Residential Entry, Sexual Battery, Fraud, and Theft. The following morning, the net closed in on the second suspect, 25-year-old Daquez Stockdale of Indianapolis, who now faces charges of Burglary, Criminal Confinement, Robbery, Residential Entry, and Theft. Both men are currently being held at the Hamilton County Jail.
