Fort Wayne Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene of a fatal shooting this afternoon, after receiving multiple emergency calls around 2:31 pm. The incident occurred in a parking lot located in the 700 block of W. Rudisill Blvd. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim with gunshot wounds. Despite the quick response from medics, who pronounced him dead at the scene, the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain a mystery.
Currently, no suspects have been identified in connection with the shooting. Investigators have been canvassing the area, engaging with potential witnesses and looking for any relevant video surveillance that might shed light on the events prior to the fatal incident. Crime Scene Technicians have also been active, meticulously gathering any physical evidence available, as reported by Chris Felton, Public Information Officer for the Fort Wayne Police Department.
The identity of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, are yet to be announced, pending further investigation by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
