Kieres, age 33, and Charles Michael McDaniel, 43, face charges following a thorough investigation led by Detective John Chambers of the Crimes Against Persons Unit (CAPS).

On May 21, the situation unfurled when Dylan Kieres reported to the police that he and his roommate engaged with a 14-year-old male in sexual conduct. During the course of the investigation, it emerged that McDaniel also had other sexual encounters with the 14-year-old victim, McDaniel had instructed Kieres to record these sexual acts using a cellphone. Detectives seized electronic devices and found child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including content involving the identified victim and additional unrelated CSAM.

The victim, after being identified by detectives, was interviewed at the Dr. Bill Lewis Center for Children where he disclosed that he was sexually involved with Kieres and McDaniel on several occasions. McDaniel, currently confined at the Allen County Jail on an unrelated matter, faces multiple felony charges, including rape. Kieres was taken into custody at an address on St. Mary’s Avenue and is now detained at the Allen County Jail as well.

Kieres’s charges include sexual misconduct with a minor, possession of child pornography, and manufacturing child pornography. McDaniel has been charged with three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, possession of child pornography, and charges that McDaniel abused, his position to gratify his own sexual predilections.
