The Fort Wayne Police Department has been diligently working to solve a fatal shooting that occurred on the 700 block of W. Rudisill Blvd. According to a press release by Public Information Officer Chris Felton, the incident happened last Thursday at approximately 2:31 pm. As part of their investigation, detectives went to a residence on the 800 block of Lafever St, where they believed there could be evidence linked to the shooting.
Subsequent to thorough investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant right before midnight. Due to the violent nature of the initial crime and the presence of unknown individuals at the Lafever St address, authorities decided on a cautious approach. They used loudspeakers to order the home's occupants to come outside before serving the search warrant. Despite this, initial responses from those inside were not immediate. Afterward, the Emergency Services Team was summoned to aid in the operation, successfully coaxing two juveniles to leave the house unharmed and without incident.
As of now, no arrests have been reported in relation to the activities on Lafever St. The Fort Wayne Police are set to carry out the search warrant in hopes of discovering relevant evidence that could aid them in their ongoing investigation of the Rudisill Blvd shooting. "There is nothing further," stated Felton regarding the latest efforts by the police department.
