Last evening, the Greenwood Fire Department (GFD) tackled a blaze at a residence on the 100 block of Traditions Pass. According to a social media post made by the GFD, firefighters were called to the scene around 9:30 PM. Fortunately, they managed to extinguish the fire shortly thereafter.
In their social media update, the GFD confirmed, "The fire is out. GFD will be investigating." The incident prompted a coordinated response from multiple departments, not only the GFD, but also White River Township Fire Department and New Whiteland Fire Department, acknowledging the collective effort of these teams in tackling, what can often be a community's worst moments.
While the cause of the fire is currently unknown, such events are a stark reminder for the necessity of regular safety checks and preventative measures in residential areas. The GFD's investigation will likely include an examination of the fire's origin point, the material circumstances that led to its spread, and whether there were any breaches in fire safety protocols.
The community is waiting for further updates on the investigation, and the GFD has assured that it will provide more information as it becomes available.
