Two men from Indianapolis were arrested in connection with a home invasion in Fishers, according to the local police department. The suspects, identified as 24-year-old Elijah J. Oates and 25-year-old Daquez Stockdale, allegedly attacked a homeowner and stole property from her residence on Thursday.
FOX59 reports that the Fishers Police Department responded to a 911 call from the victim, who reported the burglary and attack at a home in the 16000 block of Brookmere Ave. The victim, following the attack, received medical attention at a local hospital and was later released.
Oates and Stockdale are facing multiple charges. The Current specified that Oates has been charged with burglary, theft, criminal confinement, residential entry, robbery, sexual battery, and fraud. Stockdale's charges include residential entry, criminal confinement, burglary resulting in bodily injury, and theft.
It was during an interview with detectives, Oates allegedly confessed to the crimes. Arrested Thursday afternoon and yesterday morning respectively, according to WISH-TV, the two suspects are currently held in Hamilton County Jail. Officials have expressed a stern stance against crime in a press release, stating "Let this be a message to criminals: crime will not be tolerated in our city."
