Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has taken into custody a man linked to several robberies at the same bank on the city's east side. FOX59 reports that the suspect, identified as Dewayne Moss, was arrested yesterday after officers responded to a robbery at a bank located at the 4300 block of E 10th Street around 10:08 a.m.
The police were informed en route that the suspect has a history, previously targeting the same bank on May 5 and June 6. Following a second alarm at a nearby business, officers witnessed the suspect exiting the establishment and instigated a foot chase, rapidly detaining him, according to a social media post from WTHR. It is unclear whether another robbery was attempted at this second business.
Community contributions alongside the use of surveillance technology aided the police in confirming Moss's identity as the suspect for the multiple robberies at the bank. Arrested on preliminary charges of robbery and attempted robbery, the final decision on charges will be made by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, as reported by WISH-TV.
