The Marion County Sheriff's Office has announced the addition of 20 new members to its ranks following a swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday. The new officers, comprising 16 Detention Deputies and 4 Deputies, were inducted in a bid to strengthen the law enforcement team within the community. The fresh deputies hail from the 83rd Detention Deputy Academy and the 100th Deputy Academy, with each class embracing a distinct motto reflecting their dedication and aspirations, as per Marion County Sheriff's Office's release.
As they were welcomed by Executive Officer Kelvis Williams, the "Fit for duty, destined for greatness," was the clarion call for Deputy Class 100, while Detention Deputy Class 83 embraced “Strength through diversity, committed to excellence.” These new officers, according to a post from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, are set to embark on additional training, with deputies joining the next Indiana Law Enforcement Academy class and detention deputies commencing their Field Training period.
The community welcomed names such as Deputy Kevin Davis, Deputy Craig Gilbert, Deputy Franze Robles, and Deputy Coty Willis alongside Detention Deputies Jelilat Adekile, Djeffry Alva, and Samuel Cardwell. The list continued, acknowledging the arrival of Aydan Clayton, Dana Duranay, Funmilayo Fadojutimi, and several others, ready to commence their tenure with the force.
Embodying the spirit of the mottos, this diverse group of officers is now tasked with implementing their skills and training in the service of the community. Members like Detention Deputy Brian Morales appear twice in the MCSO announcement.
