A 46-year-old man named Leonard Collin Bondieumaitre has been arrested on multiple charges, including armed robbery, attempted murder, and aggravated battery with a weapon. The arrest report, which was obtained today, outlines the events of a violent encounter that took place earlier in the month in Miami, after a dispute over a $5 crack cocaine payment escalated dramatically, according to Local 10 News.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, claimed to have received the crack cocaine from Bondieumaitre, referred to as "Luger," five days before the knife attack. The confrontation occurred after the victim was discharged from a hospital stay and was approached by Bondieumaitre in the Camillus House area. According to the report, Bondieumaitre demanded the original $5, plus an additional $95 in interest. When the victim explained his inability to pay due to a check not having yet been deposited, Bondieumaitre allegedly threatened to harm him, prompting the victim to run and try to hide in a nearby parking lot.
Despite the victim's attempt to remain unseen, Bondieumaitre reportedly located him and began to punch and kick him before pulling out a folding knife and slashing his left arm. The victim managed to escape, running westbound on 17th Street toward Northwest Sixth Avenue. He later identified Bondieumaitre as his assailant in a photo lineup on June 11, as per the Miami police report shared by Local 10 News.
Bondieumaitre's arrest record was also obtained from a mugshot database, revealing additional details including his physical description and the specific charges against him. After being taken into custody last Friday, Bondieumaitre denied all involvement in the incident. His charges include possession of cocaine, armed robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon, attempted felony murder, and aggravated battery with a weapon or firearm, with his bonds on several charges yet to be set and a $2500 bond for cocaine possession.
As of the most recent update, Bondieumaitre is being held at the Miami-Dade County Pre-Trial Detention Center without bond pending further legal proceedings. Local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this violent offense.
