A downtown demonstration in Salt Lake City was marred by violence on Saturday night, with a shooting that left one person in critical condition. The Salt Lake City Police Department reports that the incident occurred at roughly 7:56 p.m. near 151 South State Street.
Officers who were on the scene responded to the gunshots and located an individual with a critical gunshot wound, which is considered life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing, but preliminary information suggests that the shooting involved four people. Following the incident, one person was apprehended by the SLCPD officers near 200 East 100 South and is currently hospitalized under police watch with serious injuries.
