In a tragic incident in Redding Township, north of Seymour, two lives were abruptly ended following an accident involving a farm tractor. FOX59 reports that the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department announced the passing of a 68-year-old woman and a 4-year-old child, who were both struck by the agricultural vehicle around 7:40 p.m. on Monday evening.
The young victim was transported to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour but was pronounced dead upon arrival, and the woman, in critical condition, was airlifted to a Louisville hospital where her fight ended early Wednesday morning, according to WISH-TV. Deputies responded to the devastating scene, where they, along with Jackson County EMS, the Redding Volunteer Fire Department, and the Seymour Fire Department worked through the wreckage in a bid to rescue and revive.
