In Carmel, quick thinking and cooperation have earned several individuals—police officers and civilians alike—high honors for life-saving heroism. Last night, following an incident at the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival, the Carmel Police Department celebrated the gallantry of its own alongside local heroes.
Featured among the honorees were K-9 Officer Owens and Sergeant Keinsley, two of Carmel PD's finest, who together with community members Ahmed Mereb, and Dr. Anita Joshi, formed an impromptu yet formidable team during a medical emergency. These individuals were presented with the Carmel Police Department’s Life Saving Award, as disclosed in a social media post by the department. "We’re proud of this incredible team effort—thank you all for your quick action!" Carmel PD shared in their heartfelt post.
