
Earlier today, a fatal crash on the east side of Indianapolis claimed the life of a 40-year-old man, according to local authorities. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that emergency services were called to the scene at N Post Rd near an I-70 exit ramp at mile marker 90.7 at around 8:54 a.m. following a report of a serious collision. WRTV noted that a specialized crash investigation team was immediately dispatched to investigate the incident.
The IMPD confirmed that at least one person was fatally injured in the accident. As part of the ongoing investigation, a fatal crash team arrived to thoroughly examine the scene, hoping to quickly uncover what may have occurred. FOX59 detailed that emergency crews had been dispatched to the area promptly after the initial report of the accident had come in.
In a statement obtained by CBS4 Indy, officials from the Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Uk Lian Thang, who was 40 years old at the time of the accident. The confirmation by the coroner's office provided closure on the identity of the individual who lost their life in this tragic event.
