In a tragic turn of events in Howard County, a collision between two vehicles on Friday night claimed the life of a 59-year-old woman from Kokomo. The accident, which occurred at the intersection of County Roads 600 East and 100 South, involved a rollover crash that left multiple individuals trapped inside the impacted vehicles. According to the FOX59, Howard County Sheriff's Office deputies and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered the two overturned vehicles, a 2019 Jeep Compass and a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Emergency teams worked to rescue those trapped, but despite their efforts, Angela Dawn Murdock was pronounced dead at the scene. As recollected by the WTHR, Murdock was a passenger in the Jeep Compass, which was being driven by her husband when the crash occurred. The Howard County Coroner's Office subsequently joined the investigation at the site of the crash.
The initial investigation by the sheriff's office revealed that the driver of the Compass was traveling westbound on County Road 100 South while the motorist in the Grand Cherokee, a 25-year-old from Kokomo, was driving southbound on County Road 600 East. The Grand Cherokee's driver failed to stop at the intersection, subsequently striking the Compass on its passenger side, which led to the devastating rollover.
