
A tragic incident occurred on the Clackamas River near Carver Park yesterday evening when a man went missing underwater and was subsequently found deceased. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office received a distress call shortly after 6:45 p.m. from a woman reporting that her husband had not surfaced for over half an hour.
Emergency responders from the Clackamas County Water Rescue Consortium, which includes Clackamas Fire and American Medical Response, arrived at the scene to conduct a search operation. According to a press release on the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office website, the man's body was located and recovered at approximately 7:15 p.m. near the park, which is situated at 14888 S Springwater Avenue in unincorporated Clackamas County.
The identity of a victim has yet to be made public as authorities are in the process of notifying next of kin. Meanwhile, the community has been left in shock over the sudden and tragic turn of events, with Carver Park’s picturesque natural setting serving as an eerie backdrop to the fatal accident.
