Sources close to the investigation shared that the woman was allegedly attacked by Salgado-Pena, her ex-boyfriend, in front of her daughter, with injuries affecting her lung, liver, kidney, and heart.
Authorities have now issued a warrant for Salgado-Pena on charges including attempted murder and aggravated battery. Following the incident near 172nd Street and 94th Court, emergency responders found the victim suffering multiple stab wounds. A cell phone video captured at the scene revealed a harrowing trail of blood leading to the woman being taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital North, where she remains in a critical condition.
