Residents of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County who are curious about the daily operations behind the police badge have an opportunity to gain firsthand insights this fall. The Murfreesboro Police Department has opened applications for its Citizens Police Academy, which will run from August 19 through November 11. According to a recent Facebook post by the Murfreesboro TN Police Department, the program will take place Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the department's headquarters on 1004 N. Highland Ave.
The academy is designed to foster a deeper understanding of law enforcement in the community. Participants will learn about the department's inner workings, meet officers, participate in a department tour, and engage in discussions on various aspects of policing. "Ever wondered what it's like behind the badge? Now’s your chance," the Murfreesboro TN Police Department teases, inviting locals to register for the program.
