State Rep. Beau Baird of Greencastle is set to take on a substantive role with several interim study committees over the coming months. As reported by Indiana House Republicans, Baird has been appointed vice chair of the Interim Study Committee on Environmental Affairs. Additionally, Baird will chair the State Fair Advisory Committee and is a member of the Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, as well as the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Compact Commission.

These interim committees are slated to meet throughout the summer and fall to delve into policy issues. They will collaboratively seek to identify solutions and refine bill recommendations ahead of January's legislative session. Legislators, during these meetings, will have the chance to actively listen to testimony from the public, experts, and stakeholders. Baird is quoted expressing his intent, "I'm focused on making sure Indiana's environmental policies support our farmers, landowners and outdoor economy. We can protect our resources and to promote rural growth at the same time."

The 2025 legislative interim study committee assignments and their topics are publicly available. A complete list of legislative appointments for each committee is also listed for those who aim to follow the policymakers' work more closely.

Public engagements, such as hearing agendas and the finer details of committee hearings, are no further than a quick visit to the Indiana General Assembly's website. Baird's active role in these committees signifies his commitment as a steward for Indiana's environmental and agricultural policies.
