Ethan Lawson (R-Greenfield) at the new Mary T. Klinker Veterans Resource Center in Boswell. The visit, which took place on Wednesday, sought to bring greater awareness to the nonprofit's mission of restoring hope to veterans, as reported by Indiana House Republicans.
The Mary T. Klinker Veterans Resource Center, named after a local nursing veteran, has established Operation Restoring Hope within a repurposed Indiana National Guard Armory. The 13-room residential facility offers sober living options, as well as both conventional and alternative therapies. Rep. Commons emphasized the importance of such dedicated spaces for veterans, stating, "They have given us so much, it is our duty to support them in returning to a peaceful, stable life."
Joining the representatives were prominent figures, including Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs Director Jake Adams, MTK Executive Director Christina Loveless, and several other community leaders who collectively underscored the Center's collaborative effort. Catherine Baker, founder of Nowhere Collaborative, a supporter of the Mary T. Klinker Veterans Resource Center, highlighted the centers' approach to veteran care. "It's essential we address the myriad issues facing our veterans with comprehensive solutions," she told Indiana House Republicans. "This facility represents a beacon of hope for many who have served." Andrea Bowman, Director of the Benton County Community Foundation, was also present to lend her support and knowledge of community-driven initiatives.
