A shooting in Cumberland over the weekend injured an adult male and a juvenile. Police said they were called around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday to an apartment complex on Woodlark Drive near East Washington Street. Officers found both victims at the scene. The adult was in serious condition, and the juvenile had less severe injuries. "We believe that the shooting incident occurred on East New York Street between two different parties," said Detective Sergeant Mark Waggoner, according to FOX59.
Several people have been detained by police after about "10-15 people" were found at the scene, as per WTHR. No suspects have been officially identified yet. The shooting took place at the Knoll Ridge Townhomes, a residential area near a commercial district with a Meijer store, as reported by WISH-TV. A juvenile is in stable condition, while a man was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. The exact ages of the victims were not released.
"We're still trying to figure out why that shooting took place and how many people were involved," said Det. Sgt. Waggoner, as mentioned by FOX59. Multiple individuals have been detained, but their involvement in the incident is still under investigation.
