On Sunday, Vacaville was shaken by a grave report when a teenage girl phoned 9-1-1, accusing an adult male of kidnapping and sexually assaulting her at gunpoint. In response to the urgent call, officers from the Vacaville Police Department rushed to the vicinity of the 100 block of West Monte Vista Avenue to investigate the accusations that have since led to the apprehension of the alleged perpetrator, the Vacaville Police Department detailed in a social media post.
Detectives quickly took over the investigation and soon identified the suspect. By mid-morning the same day, police arrested 38-year-old Marcos Gonzales of Vacaville. Officers also recovered a registered firearm during the arrest. Gonzales now faces several felony charges and is being held in Solano County Jail.
Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and say there is no ongoing threat to the community. They also found no connection between Gonzales and the alleged victim. Because the case involves a juvenile and sexual assault, police will not release more details at this time.
