A 54-year-old man named Manuel Salgado Pena has been arrested following a domestic violence incident in Northwest Miami-Dade, where he is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in front of her daughter. Salgado Pena now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder causing injury, burglary with assault or battery, and assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records. The stabbing assault occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. last Thursday, July 24, near 172nd Street and 94th Court, NBC Miami reports.
The violent confrontation led to the victim, a 48-year-old woman, sustaining multiple wounds and life-threatening injuries to vital organs such as her lung, liver, kidney, and heart, emergency crews responded to the call and video evidence from the scene depicted a distressing aftermath with a trail of blood and the woman, in a bloodied state, being transported onto a stretcher; the suspect, identified by a relative as the woman's ex-boyfriend from ten months prior, fled the area but was later detained, the woman is currently in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital North, this information comes courtesy of NBC Miami.
Meanwhile, Local 10 News has obtained jail records indicating that Salgado Pena's charges encompass one count each of attempted felony murder causing injury in addition to armed burglary with assault or battery, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. After his arrest, Salgado Pena was taken to the Turner Guildford Knight Correctional Center.
