
An Elk Grove Village woman's life was abruptly ended in a two-car collision over the weekend, as local officials and news reports have detailed. According to ABC7 Chicago, the accident took place on Saturday on Arlington Heights Road before noon. The woman, identified as 59-year-old Maria De Lourdesde Jimenez, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Following the crash near the Elk Crossing Shopping Center, the roadway remained closed as authorities surveyed the scene and investigated the incident, eventually reopening around 6:53 p.m., as mentioned in the ABC7 Chicago report. The woman driving was making a turn north from the shopping center when her Nissan Rogue collided with a southbound Lincoln Navigator. Elk Grove police stated that the man driving the Navigator, aged 50, along with a juvenile passenger, was treated at the scene and released.
