Art and automobiles are about to converge for an epic weekend in Carmel. The annual Carmel on Canvas Plein Air event is set to take place on September 5 and 6, where spectators can witness the creation of art in real-time. Artists will line the sidewalks in various parts of the city, like the Carmel Arts & Design District and the Japanese Garden, offering a visual feast for the community, free of any admission, as per the City of Carmel's release.
A twist in the tale, Artomobilia will be hosted concurrently on September 6 as informed by the same online bulletin, merging the world of fine arts with the elegance of classic and contemporary cars. This automotive event with its roots back in 2008 has grown into a full weekend dedicated to the automobile's artistry.
More than three dozens painters will participate, some journeying from across national boundaries to share their craft with onlookers.
The weekend promises to be an unforgettable mix of interactive art-making and automotive splendor. According to the event's announcement, this could well be one of the most visually stimulating experiences in Carmel's event calendar.
